Young Henry Widdrington was the elder son of Henry Widdrington. He had a comfortable relationship with his step-mother, Elizabeth Widdrington but had recently moved closer to his father.

Henry came to Carlisle with his step mother, Elizabeth Widdrington, and was at the dinner at Carlisle Castle on 21st June 1592

Young Henry placed himself between his father and Elizabeth in public.
