Mary Atkinson was a child and a remarkable witness in the murder case in which her father was the victim. She identified the day of her father's murder as Monday when it was thought to be Tuesday; described how her cousin, Julia Coldale, had come to work without a ribbon in her hair and later had one; and described her mother bringing bloody sheets downstairs to be washed. At her mother's behest, she went to find Andy Nixon and brought him to the Atkinson home.
